The Meath Masters Swimming Club was founded in 2007 to provide a place for anyone who loves to swim to come to improve their fitness and technique in a structured environment.
We train 3 - 4 times a week in the Aura Trim Leisure Centre. The swimming lanes are graded so each swimmer is put in with a group of swimmers of equal ability.
Most members join the club with basic swimming experience and find that with the structured training environment and social interaction with other swimmers they very quickly improve and achieve levels that they never previously thought possible.
Many of our members have gone from swimming a few lengths in the pool here and there to competing in distance open-water events, triathlons, and Masters Galas. This year alone 4 of our members swam the grueling 30km swim across Lake Zurich in Switzerland. The training structure is especially suited to those swimmers who are looking to improve their swimming for events such as Triathlon.
The club is also a way to meet new people. We have a buzzing social scene within the club and through the constant work of the social committee (they like to get out) we have many social events throughout the year.
Swimming is a great way to keep fit and tone up and all at the club will agree, it's great fun too.Meath Masters Calender 2010 - 2011 September - August.docMeath Masters Renewals letter for 2010 - 2011.docMMSC Club membership form.docSwim Ireland Membership Form.pdfMeath Masters Swimming Club news letter November 2010.doc
