Meath Running Group calling all Runners & Joggers
In 2010, Meath Running Group helped over 60 joggers & runners to reach their target – either completing a 10km, 10 miles, half or full marathon.
Meath Running Group is now open to new members who have a running base and are aiming to complete a 10 mile, half marathon or full marathon this year. This group training can be hugely beneficial to runners as sessions will focus on speed and endurance training such as tempo runs and interval training.
This 9 week programme, which starts Wednesday 31st August at 6.45pm in Claremont Stadium, Navan is ideal for runners aiming to improve their times this year. The programme will cost €30(that’s just over €3 a session!), members will receive individualised programmes and coach led training sessions.
Also members can avail of our group runs on Saturday mornings,

All started training last March and for most this is their first 26 miler- just goes to show with training and determination your goal is achievable."
Below are some pictures taken at the presentation for Paddy. Paddy trained MRG from the outset of the training to get the members to the marathon. All present showed great appreciation for Paddy and the work he put in.

It's been a while getting here, but we are finally on the web. We hope you enjoy visiting - and maybe you will get enough information to whet your appetite about running.
Whether your distance is 3km or 26.2m, if we can give you some encouragement and information on our group, maybe you will be tempted to join us in the near future!
Meath Running Group is sponsored by Meath Local Sports Partnership (MLSP)
During the season the group meets on Wednesday nights in Clairemont Stadium and Saturday mornings at the Ramparts car park. Times are 7PM Wednesdays and 9:15AM Saturdays.
The group provides excellent training and support for anyone thinking of completing distances up to and including the marathon. MLSP provides excellent trainers for both running and Core/strengthening work. The Core/strength/speed work is completed in Clairemont and Saturday mornings is reserved for the weekly 'long run'.

This year the group has participated in numerous races from 5k to a half marathon and had good follow-on success from our first year in existence.
The focus of this year's training is participating in the Adidas Race Series(race results here) which will prepare those of us who will go on to compete in the Dublin Marathon in Ocober. Getting close now guys!
For the unitiated, the Race Series includes 5 mile, 10 mile and Half-Marathon distances, all of which are run in the Phoenix Park. The group also participated in a 10k in May in the same location.
We're now coming into October after the half marathon being completed two weeks ago. Long runs will begin to ease back soon and the big day is 4 weeks away!
